The Royal Government of Cambodia on Saturday issued a sub-decree banning the closure of black or tinted glass on car windshields and windows.

The sub-decree aims to determine the closure of coloured plastic panels or the addition of curtains on all types of windshields in the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The purpose of this sub-decree is to prevent crimes caused by the perpetrators using cars with stained glass and make it easier for the institution and Officials have the authority to perform inspection duties.

Anyone who uses vehicles with tinted glass shall be fined 50,000 Riels and must be adjusted in accordance with the provisions of the sub-decree.

In case of non-payment of the fine immediately, an additional fine of 10,000 (ten thousand) Riels per day shall be imposed on the basic fine.

In case of non-payment of the fine for more than 30 (thirty) days, the case shall be sent to the court.

In this sub-decree, it is also stated that anyone who imports colored glass cars that can be seen from the outside in violation of the provisions of this sub-decree shall be fined 2,000,000 (two million) Riel and must make adjustments in accordance with the provisions of this sub-decree.

In case of non-payment of the fine, an additional fine of 20,000 (twenty thousand) Riels per day shall be imposed on the basic fine.

In case of non-payment of the fine for more than 30 (thirty) days, the case shall be sent to the court as well.
