robust and reflective igloo dome reconnects inhabitants with nature
A harmonious blend of form and function, the Igloo Dome presents a futuristic
A harmonious blend of form and function, the Igloo Dome presents a futuristic yet comfortable living space for those seeking a deeper connection with nature. Designed by Nikita Kupryienka for NVI DOMES, robust, protective materials and modern production methods have shaped the home to effortlessly blend into any landscape — be it forests, mountains, the shores of reservoirs, or even the desert.
A seamless combination of wood, glass, and metal have been integrated with high thermal insulation and UV protection to ensure that the dome can equally withstand the harsh cold of arctic regions as well as the intense sunlight of the desert. Its modular form, carefully crafted construction, and in particular the innovative glass panel attachment method ensures that the dome is customizable and easy to produce, store, transport, and assemble.

Igloo Dome's reflective facade, achieved with mirrored and fire-resistant panels for regions prone to wildfires, creates an array of colors that dynamically dialogue with any natural or urban context. From the inside, full transparency of the outdoors vistas are offered for residents. These triangular modules are filled with PIR 100mm with aluminum foil on both sides — which offers optimal insulation and energy-saving performance. Further, the structure's multi-level protection against vapor intrusion safeguards it against excessive moisture and mold, as its fully sealed construction also retains heat during winter and prevents it from entering during summer.
Beyond its distinct form, designer Nikita Kupryienka has conceived the Igloo Dome to meet the highest standards of comfort and durability. The rounded structure stands 4 meters tall with a diameter of 6 meters and an area of 28 square meters, ensures unparalleled strength and stability to withstand any climate conditions. The facade is shaped from 4mm-thick aluminum composite panels that absorb solar radiation and protect the house from overheating, meanwhile efficient space optimization within creates a spacious interior from the limited space. Its frame is constructed from plywood which bears the entire load while remaining lightweight and robust. Meanwhile CNC milling ensures perfect precision of the components, resulting in error-free assembly that requires minimal manpower.
Igloo Dome easily integrates into any landscape, including forests, mountains, and even the desert
Inside, the dome is finished with high-quality plywood and wood to imbue a cozy ambiance, and is fully equipped with all necessary amenities for a comfortable extended stay, including a full-size kitchen, and a shower cabin with a 100-liter boiler. An electric underfloor heating system also maintains the desired temperature, while energy-efficient glass windows with a mirror effect are used, offering an additional sense of protection and comfort. During the day, the interior remains entirely hidden from passersby outside.
